Short Story Competition 2013 – winners announced!
The ‘crime and mystery’ theme of this year’s Fifty-Plus News Short Story Competition evoked grisly, ghastly and gloriously unpunished crimes in the minds of some entrants and perplexing tales of the paranormal in others. The range of imaginative plots was quite amazing and, while accomplishment on the page didn’t always match the creative concept, the general standard of the hundreds of entries was high.
Congratulations to the winning authors. Their stories will be published in successive issues of Fifty-Plus News, commencing with Lee Davies’ Joint Venture on page 9 of the August issue.
Lee Davies, Joint Venture
James G Dow, The Backpack Mystery
Christine Elliott, Old Sins, Long Shadows
Ruby King, Cruciverbalism
Christopher, Ringrose, And Who Is My Neighbour?
